Elise's 4 months and growing

Hello all,

This is our first post. We're hoping this blog will be a helpful and fun way to keep our families and friends up to date regarding our lives with Elise. We're planning to share all of the cute, exciting thing about watching Elise grow!

Over the last couple of months Elise has grown so much as our blog has been delayed in posting I'll brief you on what you've missed.

Month 1: She was very bright eyed and alert when she wasn't sleeping. She had great head/neck control (which I think is rare with 1 month old babies) and she hated baths.

Month 2: Elise has grown even more alert, watching everything around her. She is also beginning to smile. She enjoys supervised "belly time" which is laying down on her belly where she can lift her head and kick her feet.

Month 3: So far this has been the funnest month. She smiles actively and giggles when Kurt or I tickle her around the neck and blow on her belly in just the right spot. She can find momentum to roll over onto her back when laying on her belly. The funnest and cutest thing about this month is that she has found her tongue and loves to stick it out all the time.

Month 4: (Currently) Elise continues to be into her tongue and has grown to love the way water feels on it. We've played with water in a sip-cup but we've found that she likes it the most when it's in a tall glass with ice. If we rattle she glass of ice near her she begins to jerk with joy and stick her tongue out to lick the water (super cute). She also enjoys grabbing objects that are held out in front of her. She enjoys the feel of fresh air and sunshine, which is usually very calming for her. On the downside she hates the car seat and will hold out her elbows in order to block setting back to be strapped in. Also, we have to watch her closely because she has learned to scoot. Almost forgot that she loves to babble and hum and she smiles like the sunshine every morning.

Overall, the last couple of months have been great. Elise and I have been attending baby yoga and a mommy/baby workout class called "Stroller Strides".

Here is a mommy/baby yoga dance that was held at the Whole Foods flagship. If you look closely you can see me holding Elise (2 months old).
